knotless nets

what are knotless purse nets i've never heard or seen of these before i saw them in an advertisment in the countrymens weekly can any shed any light on this

My mate had a gatenet from bridport that was knotless. It was made of braid or similar and just weaved together. Personally I'd rather a knotted net. I can't see the advantage of knotless.

ive got one. it must be manufactered by machine as it looks like its glued up.

In a word "yes" so long as they have a heavy weight draw cord fitted as the material tends to be a bit light'

I use some fitted with a leaded drawcord usually seen in long mets.

they are more like fishing landing nets, they take the 2 pieces of thread and glue it together with waterroof glue, i imagine they work well as the landing nets do but i think they will be expensive.

just like will said really... but i know through working in the fishing shop, people prefer the knotless landing nets to the notted ones wether the purse nets will be the same i dont know.

Thats to do with fish safety not durability, strength etc

yes mate your right..... but its the same thing theyre doing with the purse nets... getting a big thing in fishing now alot of fisheries do not allow nets with nots,
