What sort of workman blames the tools ?

a workman with crap tools.

in any case unload before climbing over anything, could be your foot next time or worse

Its not the tools that make a workman, good tools just make it easier to do the job.

:haha::haha::haha::good::whistling:

And bad tools cause injury and/or screw up jobs!!

Cut a straight edge with a bent saw, build a level wall with a cheap spirit level, drill a hole with a chinese Bit, etc, etc!!

Buy an Escort Shotgun and you will understand!!!!:thumbs:

Bent saw is a damaged tool !

Most spirit level are cheaply made and in china ! Where do you think most drills are now made ??

Come on wake up and smell the Coffee !

Cheep price = cheap production the escort is born of our lust for cheap goods ! we all moan about rip off britain but buy cheap goods from over sea !

How many british rifles/guns or kit do you own ? And how much is imported ?

Apart from air guns i own 1 british designed rifle but made in the USA. But then again i'm not moaning.

I doubt i'll get much of a response from this but here goes.

I really want to get a refund on this gun as i don't like it. Anyone had any experience getting your money back. What would be a good angle of approach.

Don't think you will have much luck .

You have to have a valid reason e.g.

Failure of parts [then you will be given a replacement]

Dangerous in its operation [you have to prove the fact]

Not liking it will not get you any joy.

If i were you i would either trade it in or sell it on, and accept you lost a bit of cash.

Good luck !

What the ***k has this got to do with buying British?????

Cheap production should not mean a reduction in Safety in guns!!

And bad tools cause injury and/or screw up jobs!!

....and you have not stood next to and Escort Magnum at the moment the barrel decided to let go!!

Stop getting carried away ! In your first post about escort armageddon you were not to fazed just wanted compo !

Now all you do is go on about how Edgar bro's are useless the proof house let dangerous guns into the country and IF someone is hurt then you will be proved right .

While there might have been a problem with your tool for the job , The odds are as other posters have pointed out are you did not have the choke tight.

And repeat bad workmen always blame their tools and screw up the job ! and the wrong tools cause the injury . ;) ;)

What planet have you turned up from...I went out of my way to be conciliatory with the Escort and with Edgar Bros and simply got s*****d on.

Edgar Bros have offered NO help, NO explanation and NO compensation...their total contribution is..."if you don't like it take it back"!

The Choke was tight as attested by the Dealer (a shotgun CHAMPION) and Edgar Bros, and anybody could also see that from the part of the choke left welded to the barrel.

I accepted when I bought this gun it was not quality made, finished, or likely to have a very long lifespan, but I had every right to expect a gun that worked and was safe!

This gun is poorly made with low quality parts and quality control is a mystery. The gun is not safe and I make that a BAD tool, but when it kills someone, lets just say it was the wrong tool if it makes you happy!!

Valid stuff from everyone, hope the op now understands the "never climb/vault etc rule"

But, and I don't know the gun mentioned, no weapon should discharge if dropped or bounced with the safety on?

Take the gun back loaded and ask the supplier to bounce it on the floor under his chin :o

No don't, but get my drift ;)

Wow !

Have i upset you ? The post started off as someone who had a negligent Discharge !

What did you expect from Edgar bro's ?

Help did you want ? The gun was replaced.

Explanation ? They were not there and it passed proof so how can they offer an explanation ?

Compensation ? How much were you looking for, no injuries of damage to property.

They said if you don't like it have your money back !!!

Looks from here that edgar bros have been fair.

And not worthy of your wrath if you are so upset don't use them again. ;)

To be honest if I had made a serious issue to a manufacturer of any product with regard to it's safety I would at least expect an enquiry and a valid reply to my concerns.??

Have i upset you ? The post started off as someone who had a negligent Discharge That point has been addressed

What did you expect from Edgar bro's ? Help, consideration and answers..

Help did you want ? The gun was replaced. The barrel blew up, the barrel was replaced..the new barrel didn't fit, the whole gun was then replaced by another faulty one!!

Explanation ? They were not there and it passed proof so how can they offer an explanation ? they TOLD me it would go back to the Proof House and be tested...they have avoided all ways of giving me an answer!!

Compensation ? How much were you looking for, no injuries of damage to property. Weeks of missed shooting, A fear of this gun instilled in my lad and perpetuated by a lack of any explaination from Edgar Bros, £75 of wasted fuel, my wasted time, phone calls, emails, letters, registered post to the police..it goes on....

They said if you don't like it have your money back !!! Kind ...saved them a trip to Court!!

Looks from here that edgar bros have been fair. Like I said before..what planet are you from

And not worthy of your wrath if you are so upset don't use them again. So...when you walk back from the pub and are chased by a load of hooligans but just escape the answer is...whats the problem..don't go there again!!;)

Too much ladds, it's just a forum chill out. I posted because i needed an explanation in the heat of things. I was not taking enough care while out with the gun and thanks to the members pointing that out i will know continue on to be more precautious, with any gun i have. Thankyou.

You really aint gonna do yourselves any favours having a go at each other like that. Its just the internet walk away that's the beauty of it.
