Butler 396
i have seen 1 dog take 11 in one night all good fallow but they was in a very big enclosure ,2 dogs take 4 reds including a very big stag ,they also was in a very big enclosure, the most wild fallow i know with one dog was 7 ,the most wild fallow stags with 2 dogs in one night was 3 and 2 does ,i used to see 1 dog take 5 or 6 fallow in one night very regular ,and 2 dogs take the same amount very often .most i ever seen caught in one season is 304 all fallow ,mind you it was all a long time ago 40 odd deer a month is some going My Law ..........fair play to you, not sure I am that comfortable with hunting the park Deer, but hey each to his own. No mean task for a dog is a Fallow.......good dogs you had back then. Never hunted deer myself, but Fallow look like big customers. Big numbers could be achieved back in the day Especially if you lived in a highly populated area and they could even be achieved by the lads not fortunate enough to live there but thats when true dedication was called for. I have heard of lads doing a 12/14 hour round trip two or three times a week just to put sport in front of a hound Seven hour journey to run deer !! Where where they going ??? Lands end to John 'O Groats !!!!!! This is Britain,FFS, not the 'States !! (Unless they were on foot or their bikes ) LOL !!! Cheers. To me a round trip means from leaveing home till you return so 4 hours one way 4/6 hours lamping then the 4 hours home = 12/14 hours. Charpolski from the tone of your posts you are a disbeliever so i won't waist my time trying to change your mind but big bags can be achieved if your keen enough. Quote Link to post

Guest night time my time
localy deeer are prety wise to dogs at this time of year so youll get chases but never big numbers but as good as hare chase , when i was down in suffolk could have had as many fallo as i could sell , saw forties on rape feilds and carrot feilds stubble feilds , tons of them caught several but some were gimmes, they stood out and by the time my two big tor of dartmoor halfcrosses got there it was all over not much sport at times , but good eating and butcher liked them , localy all the roe stick not to far from a wood so you need a dog who can get on them quick and turn them off the wood and then the fun startseven round suffolk they are on there toes this time of year, pre ban you would of needed a good windy or even wet night to bring them away from the woods, had lot of muntys and cwd in one go at times over the years,no more than 1 roe seeker or fallow at a time,if you wanted to see deer taken in big numbers its the south west is the easyest, slip 2 dogs often 2 roe at a time,no sport in em sailbury plain was full of them.
