stealthy1 3,964
Now then, remember the two ferrets that I took in, well I finaly got the little finger chompers to work, took them to an easy long hedge full of three to seven holers, I have to say that getting stiff new collars on slightly untrusting ferrets was a bit of a game, but got there in the end, nets on, jill to go first, lifted the net shoved her in, thought she would bugger about at the enterance, but she shot straight down, must have been the pipe training. Anyway, rabbits were shooting past underground but would'nt bolt, I could see the rabbits running past through the other entrances, closely followed by the jill, like scalectrics! then I think she moved up a gear as she clicked as to what she doing, and the first rabbbit hit the net, and then later followed by another. Then it started to rain, and I mean rain, so out with the jill and in with the hob, he bolted nothing, maybe next time. Only did two more warrens because of the bad wheather and late start I had, only took one picture before the heavens opened, wound up with four rabbits, which to be honest is more than I thought these rescues would ever Produce, just proves how tough ferrets are. I have lent out my five other ferrets, two to mate who had his stolen a few weeks ago, two to another chavey who helped me out a few times, until he gets sorted, and my other poley is loaned to a lass down the road from me, because one of hers died, and because she's a looker, I was'nt looking forward to the rest of the season with just the two rescues, but now I am, look out bunnie's. Brimmer 220
Superb to see them getting out at last Stealthy, looks like it was all worthwhile! How were they on the catchup at the end? Quote Link to post

How were they on the catchup at the end? Now then Brimmer, I was impressed by them, thought after all the s**t they'd been through they would'nt have had the heart for it, glad to say I was wrong, they only did four rabbits in all, just wanted to get them out and sorted really, taking them back to the same hedge when I get time, did'nt get it finished because of the weather, after that I've got some woodland to do with a decent head of rabbits, don't want to push them to far to fast, think they could turn into gooduns if I look after them a bit. stubby 175
so out with the jill and in with the hob, good news on the ferts and your day out, but why not put them both in together, Ive always found that with only one fert down, no matter how small the warren, the rabbits can lead them a merry dance underground, but adding more ferts, gets them in a bigger panic to bolt Quote Link to post
