slider or ring??

Hi all,

Just wondering is there any advantages of using a slider instead of a ring or vica versa on your purse nets??

Personally I don't see the advantage that the slider has over a ring apart from cost which is insignificant anyway.

 

There are occasions where the slider actually locks against the drawcord like a tent guy tensioner and reduces its pursing potential if the pull is not direct.

 

They are also slightly harder to knit from than a ring and fiddly to make if you don't have a jig

SLIDERS ARE NO GOOD THEY CLOSE FAST BUT THEY OPEN FAST TOO IF RABBITS GET BACKNETTED THEY DONT HOLD THEM

Even if im making a bigger purse net four and a half to five foot i still prefer a ring on each end

Like flat cap says they do close fast, but open too fast and easy i lost a few the other weekend due to that. Go for rings mate
