My parents had one break its leg jumping out a bedroom window, he had pins put in his leg and when the cast came off his leg was bent very slightly. this didn't effect him walking but they didnt work him, problems later in life too and the bend became worse/ more noticeable. Play it by ear but be prepared for the worst. more chance of coming good because oit is so young and the bones arent yet matured, my parents dog was 2 when he did his.

all the best with it and i hope it turns out well for you.

Seen the same thing this year with one of my girlfriends dads lab pups, he ran over it and broke its leg. Got put in a cast, and when it came off it was bent as hell! But yep, it did strengthen and straighten out after a few weeks, pups fine now.

Just make sure you dont let it go galloping around for a good while until vet gives you the all clear! Good luck!

Was he a running dog Vet Dunc? If not it might be worth getting advice from a track vet ,possibly one from Sitting- bourne or Crayford. The guy I use for major problems is Martin Bennett at Lingfield Lodge,Lingfield ,he is a track vet at Crayford.Hope it works out for you anyway.Inan.ps I'll give you a ring next week ,before the moon comes up again.

was the break just below the wrist if so the supporting tendons may have been damaged and they take at least 6 weeks to repair. Vet could consider a splint/cage rest rather than a cast to give a little support while they heal. It's a very young pup so has good repair possibilites and worth a little investment but it depends on the extent of any damage.

Good luck s

try swimming him (hydrotherapy) helps heal injurys, i worked in a hydrotherapy centre (dog swimming pool) for a while and i tell you it works wonders on injurys to joints as it builds up muscle but without putting weight on the joint....i was sceptical on the whole "it works miracles thing" till i saw it before my eyes, although at £30 for half an hour its a bit pricey, personally i would go for the swim him up and down off a jetty option as its free
