scotsman5 0
hey all sorry if this question has been asked before but is an MK2 worth buying and will any collar work with it? as in a MK1 or a MK3 collar Quote Link to post
stubby 175
if its fully working, and at a price that seems reasonable to you, then go for it, dont know if a mk3 will work with it, but a mk1 wont, Quote Link to post
deka 7
hi i have a mk2 and get along fine with it. mine won't pick up my mates mk3 collar (tho his mk3 will pick up my mk2 collar) but i'm sure i can remember it picking up a mk1 collar Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Met a lad the other day at euroguns in Doncaster who had thee mk2's, he said he would'nt swap them for anything, he asked to look at my mk3 collars that I had just bought, for that very reason, to see if they were different, see if someone you know can try it for you. The one 8,585
Thought the only problem with the mk2's was the ate the batteries up something like 30 hours power compared to 300 for a mk3 ???? Quote Link to post

The mk 2 transmitter /battery cases are black as opposed to grey in the mk3. Don't know if a mk 2 reciever will pick-up a mk3 collar but I can't see why not as a mk 3 will pick-up a mk2 collar . You are right "the one" mk2 collars do use up batteries a bit quicker than mk3's probably because they tick a bit faster . This is actually usefull as if you ,like I do, run one ferret with a mk2 collar and one with a mk3 collar it's easy to identify individual ferrets below ground . Both mk2 & mk 3 collars work with the grey "mk 1" reciever up to ten or eleven feet . Quote Link to post
