paint melted wax on it if it aint too bad. if its a barbour then it should say somewhere on the inside 'barbour care' or somit

Thanks Will

its a barbour - The barbour care bit talks about a booklet which I dont have because I bought it off ebay. Ill sew it and get some wax to melt on. The rip will let the rain in otherwise. Pity barbour care didnt warn me to throw it over the fence before trying to get over.

Hi mate Barbour used to do a repair rewax service at a reasonable price [compared to a new jacket anyway]

Had mine done some years back new zip, patches on the holes, half lining, bound cuffs and hem and a rewax.

Came back looking like new but still felt like the old faithful coat!

It doesn’t need a complete overhaul just yet. I'm trying to get my hands on a repair kit and will give it a go myself.

if your rip aint too big and your not too bothered about looks of the repair you

can seal it with a little bit of aquasure....use it for repairs on waders wellies and on my drysuit for my diving!!!!

Might try that, I just want to keep the rain out and keep it from getting any bigger.

I had a look on the web and some people were suggesting putting the coat inside a pillow case then inside the tumble drier for 20 mins to heat it before rewaxing.
