taff3915 2
Went out today with my ferrets, put her into a few warrens with no return, i have seen activity within these burrows in the last tw0 weeks is it possible that the rabbits stand there ground( she cant bolt them) or is it more likely that the holes are now vacant? any replies are much appreciated thankyou. sue 1
they are still young ,you will need a little patience and just keep taking them out as they mature they will soon bolt you rabbits Quote Link to post
Guest jbswildlife
around 8 months maybe a little older gills feed them up before yoy go out sounds like there playing rather than hunting. get someone with an older ferret to do the site with you. Yesterday I used a couple of old jills and one young jill. the young one was in and out very fast whilst the other two were down for 10mins a time Quote Link to post

stubby 175
no one has yet asked what size burrows your putting her down, because if they are large, and your only putting one ferret down, of course your not getting bolts, the one thing on the rabbits mind is survival, if it can escape the fert via the many tunnels, it has no need to bolt, 8 months is plenty old enough, I'd suggest either getting more ferts, or teaming up with someone who has more, as putting 3 to 4 ferts down will see bolters Quote Link to post
The one 8,588
Theres loads of reasons mate .I use one ferret per 10 holes i can see ,somebody might have ferreted those burrows before you in the past two weeks ,and this season they might be flooded and the rabbits moved out etc etc . Try your jill in small 3/4 holers till you get a result and them you will know she's working or run a adult jill threw the set after her to check it . Quote Link to post
