OldNog 432
Anyone had troubles with dogs, especially young first season dogs, false marking? Taken my unentered bitch out twice this season, gone to ground fine but second time she may well have been false marking. Il put my hands up and admit its my fault if she has started because i over encouraged her (over excited beginner!) Is this a habit that can be kurbed and how do i nip it in the bud? Iv been taking her out on her own and recon il leave off until i go out with an experienced dog Cheers Edited October 2, 2008 by OldNog Quote Link to post
OldNog 432
i think that would be your best bet mate, shes probably picking up on your excitment that shes gone tae ground, realy should try for early sucsess when entering a youngster, makes a big difference Cheers Donnie Iv struggeled getting the ground and finding holes on the ground i have got. Weathers getting cooler here now so im keeping my eyes on some holes Quote Link to post

smasher 1,055
The fact that she is traveling is a good start, she knows she is looking for something but not sure what,be patient with her and dont over encourage her,or she may start yapping just to please you,her day will come when she meets someone at home and it will all fall into place. Just want her to do well you know. I suppose i do expect to much of her aswell. You never read about the dogs that take a while to enter...only the ones that fly to ground first time and dont show at the hole ever. Looking forward to the trip over to yours aswell. Your a good man cheers aswell everyone Quote Link to post
matt11 0
oldnog my last 2 dogs that i have got working took several months, almost gave up with one of them knew she would work but took so long.that black and tan dog i have took a whole season, showed him one stop end and he flew but would not understand about finding until i had one in a pipe.there isnt many dogs that do it straight off mate so dont worry.on the other hand mate had dogs for a season that never do make the grade so just wait and see.
