Hey sniper,we have all made little boo boos.I post on hear to try and help the lads gain abit of free knowledge on snaring and trapping :good: .

Theres that much total rubbish written on this subject in trapping books which is why i try and put people on the right road to successfull snaring/trapping ;)

I was helped on the art of snaring/trapper by a master snarer/trapper (Glenn Waters).I travelled the 175 miles  nearly every other week for years to gain the knowledge that put me on the road to being a top class snarer/trapper :good: .

Nothing can beat learning off a master and i was very lucky to have been able to do just that, which is why i will go well out of my way to help other guys who have the interest but nobody to teach them.

If you need any help at all Sniper just ask mate or PM me ;):good:

Oh, and please post when you have an opinion or question.Thats what these forums are about,(asking and learning) ;):good:

i can see what yer sayin, but i believe, and im not the expert here, more the learnin novice, that its all down to the tension in the wire.once the snare is set and the ginger fella walks into it,the tension in the wire makes it close ,then with the fox pullin it obviously gets tighter. As p & g says once ye get a dog fox in one of them fence wires, hes gonna do himself loadsa harm just by struggling and leapin over and under the fence. IMO of course lol ;)

Amen to that Geordie(geordie and a mackem agreeing? :o )had 8 in the last two weeks along fences and every one was stone dead due to wrapping themselves round any snag within reach

I actually load all my fox wires. To do this i rub the inside of the snare (close to the eye) on a six inch nail which is fastened in my vice ;) .

When they are loaded the fox snare actually fires onto the foxes neck the second the fox touches the snare ;)

All these tips and techniques will be shown in my video(when a certain person on this forum gets round to doing it :realmad: ) :good:

"struggleing to see the stops on them snares. i take it they are there? think there is enough bad press about with out handing out photos of illegel snares"

Deer stops are a recommendation not a legal requirement.

Gary
