WELL COLIN ,

AS USUAL . YER RIGHT .... ITS A NICE SET UP BUT FAR TOO CUMBERSOME FOR ME .............WHEN YOU THINK I WAS TAUGHT TO SET UP RABBIT SNARES AS A KID ON HAZEL TEALERS THIN AS A PENCIL , THIS SNARE WOULD BE BETTER ON A THIN WHIP ...........

PERSONALLY I USE ALL SORTS OF TRIGGERS ....... FROM PLY TO HAZEL AND HAWTHORN

HOWEVER THROUGH EASE I GENERALLY USE PLY AS I CAN CUT HUNDREDS IN AN HOUR .......... A GODD RUB IN SOME GREAT OLD BRITISH MUD TO DARKEN AND MASK THE SCENTS OF THE GLUED PLY AND BOBS YER UNCLE .......

the idea behind rat snaring is more of hobby rather than anything else. this photo was taken for showing people how it works. If you can build this unit then you can replace the fishing rod with a hazel stick and thin down the trigger holders. when snaring rats they need to be suspended in the air to stop them gnawing the snare and getting away.
