Fence wires con..

:good: nice pic's pegandgun , them old snares look deadly mate , could you tell me how you would set a snare in a furrow or a tramline in sugarbeet or another crop , and how you would secure it ,stake it down or tie it to a log etc .if you had a picture of a set up for a situation like this , i would be grateful if you would share it with us . many thank's regard's, nutshot :good:

set your snare along side your tram line or furrow set your loop over the centre of the run your snaring i use a 10x8 noose this allows the head easy access set your snare a minimum of ten inches off the ground to the underside of your loop to secure you can use a drag or use an earth anchor this will hold the fox secure but tends to spoil the run where as the drag the fox can move but not very far and you can allways reset in the same place :good: :ph34r:

that it no more wire for you peggy, i have catched a fox in a wire , back in 1986 i had 300 wires set along a fence and it only took me 4 months to catch it, i did it a big favour cos it was blind and incontinent :D

after searching back over all P&G's snare posts I set my first rabbit snare today. Its where a run goes under the fence either side of the fence I put a row of sticks to sort of channel the rabbit (hopefully) so if it wants to get under the fence it'll have to go through the snare.

 

we'll see in the morning what it brings

Mr. Gun. When setting a fox wire under a fence, how high do you keep the bottom of the noose from the ground?
