im looking into getting my shotgun certificate at the mo and ive run into a small problem!

i moved to dorset just over two years ago now and the only person ive known for the whole two years who might be able to sign my application is the landlord of my local, would he count as a person of good social standing or will his trade exculed him from being able to sign?

You just want someone who is responsible with a clean record with a good background.

 

I got my old boss (Store manager) and a fella who lets me shoot on his land to sign my Fac, He also did my shotgun for me aswell.

 

I think it helps if they are in a higher up position but they dont have to be a doctor or lawyer etc.

 

As long as they know you personally and can give you a good report, and have a good background themselves.

If youre unsure try contacting your FEO. mine was very helpfull and informative.

 

Just say that you know him from going into the pub for bar meals and mineral waters !!

As long as you are talking about the guy who has his name above the door..... YES!!!

 

To get his licence he has already been through numerous checks including a criminal record check by the poilce!!
