First Lurcher!

As im after my first lurcher, am interested in what everyone had for there first lurcher & would they go for a different breed if knew what they knew now?????

1st lurcher was a collie/whippet/grey mix, no complaints about her work wise...now run 3/4 grey 1/4 collie x wish I had started with this x years before I did.

No not now mate I like whippet x's but I find the 3/4 x more versatile folk may disagree but thats my opinion

i had a bull greyhound, but i wouldnt advise it mate, for ur first lurcher id go for a bedlington whippet

my frist lucher was a bitz dont really know what is in him he was a good rabbiting dog would tackle fox as well still have him here in my yard is the quietest dog i have ever seen can keep anything with him very old now comes for the odd walk with me i will try get up picture of him

3/4 collie grey,never looked back,had all xs of all sorts since but cant beat a collie imo

my first was a bitza but would really call it my first he ran away over thunder storm one night when he was 13 months old so really didnt get to work him..but my first real lurcher was a 7/8 greyhound 1/8 bull she was a great alrounder killed and caught anything that moved.....

My first is a Bull X too, am enjoying learning and watching.

 

Pup is now 7 months old.

 

Not going too bad considering the Stafford spent the first week trying to murder the pup, not playing rough or dominating him, if I had left them the pup would be dead now ............... now look at them!

My first lurcher is a bull cross... 11 weeks now and so suprisingly clever.

mine was a whippet x grey.... took everything i aimed her at and even done terrier work as well... i bought her for the £30 quid because the lad couldnt stand her yipping on the lamp... it was only the odd yip here and there so it didnt bother me in the slightest...
