andy s410c 61
Managed to get out for a mooch today after a couple of weeks layoff.Arrived at the bottom quarry 2pm'ish very overcast & slight breeze.Decided to go for a stalk around today to see the lie of the land & to find any new sets for this seasons ferretting. Not 2 minutes into my stalk first bunny presents itself, looking through the scope, puffy eyes myxi's here....regardless missed it anyway :realmad: . Got further down into the quarry next to the old kilns & got my first bunny but alas on it's last legs with myxi. I then came round onto the top field had a look through the binos...nothing around.I then went round the side of the quarry wall managed to bag one which was healthy As i proceeded round the top of the quarry wall i saw several rabbits run into the rock outcrops so i pulled up a sniping position after some nanny goat clambering around the quarry wall after a short while i managed to bag one & miss another It's a comfortable sniping position with a good view of the quarry wall burrows which are to unsafe to ferret. I had a mooch round next to the paddock fields but nothing around there so i called it a day.On my walk back to the car i managed to bag another on the bankside this one had the early signs of myxi I bumped into the landowner & had a good chat with him .I'll try to get a couple of more sesh's before i start ferretting probalies mid October.
