Ginette 0
I think a certain amount of freedom is needed for any animal if it's to be kept humanely! My ferrets get free roam and I even let them loose in the woods where I live, as long as there'e one person to keep track of each ferret. I think it's probably good to hone their instincts. A ferret kept locked up is more likely to go feral I think from shere cabin fever and boredom! Ferrets love play and often need lots of room to do so properly. Plus if they assosciate you with freedom and fun, they'll only love you all the more and (maybe) look more faviourably upon your hands. Quote Link to post
Halfinch 51
There's no way you can give a ferret TOO much freedom, but like others have said, it's very hard to totally secure a garden, and ferrets do have predators, so just be aware of those 2 potential problems. All the best. Quote Link to post
ratman 1 0
Iam glad im not the only nut for freedom Ginette would like to know if you work your ferret and if so do you use a tracking device? I dont because there is no need and i think that is because they are free to roam Quote Link to post

African tribesmen are not called locators nor were American Indians, they were called TRACKERS, so you say tomAto and I say tomato, and by the way I dont recall asking for your opinion anyway Quote Link to post
