davyt63 1,845
hi every one just thought i would show you lot what i have been up to went to Stanford last Saturday was there for got set up and had a mooch round weather was on and of drizzle so had to sit it out for awhile on and of not much about so sat down under cover and waited for a target to present bits self and these 3 did just that Saturday i went to the hotel Sunday had some friends over from Dublin so there son wanted to come along so the three of us set off. got to the hotel and it pissed down so sat in the car till it got lighter rain was watching the bunnies come out and go back in for a while .then one came out on my sons side it was about 40-45 yds out my son has been out with me before and he is a good little shot. so had no worries of him taking the shot so he took aim controlled his breathing and THWACK over it goes.i went to pick it up and when i paced it back it was 52 paces,es what a cracking shot i said and his reply was {i told you i was a sharp shooter} cheeky little so n so . i went for a mooch round the back of the hotel where there is a few bunnies had the NV with me so had a look round the corner and there was 2 out took aim THWACK s410 cocked quickly and smoothly THWACK another bites the dust .got back to the car sat round for about half an hour and it pissed down again so took the lads home .my son on the right good looking like his dad lol sorry about the poor quality of the pic Sunday went to the business park Wednesday with another mate of mine who hasn't got any permission so offered to take him out. i new charlie was up in the horse paddock so spent a couple of hours down the bottom of the park and would meet up with him later. so went to the sub box area and had a look through the window and i could see bunnies out so asked rick if he would like to take a shot so round the corner he leans and BOOM i forgot what a springer sounded like he missed and about 8 bunnies ran for the tree line never to be seen again. so went to meet up with charlie but he had already left he text me that he got 2 in the paddock we got to the paddock and seen about 10 bunnies within 5 minutes i had THWACKED 4 no luck for kiwi rick this time Wednesday i had a job to do in west challow a barn conversion i know the builder and asked if he would mind if i came up and took care of the bunnies for him.he was delighted so was at work the next morning at 6.30am had a quick look round and counted 40 plus bunnies so told charlie that we had some new permission and we were up there Thursday evening for a bit of lamping and night vision shooting. when we got there charlie nearly came in his pants at the amount of bunnies that were out.we sat in the car for an hour just watching there movements and numbers and the best place for cover or a sniping position.we got set up and of we went we decide to one go left and the other go right and we would meet up at the top of the field. was in the field 5 minutes and THWACKED one had a little mooch forward a bout 10 yds and just sat in the hedge line i could see charlie taken aim so waited here for half an hour and two more came out THWACK & THWACK down they both go could hear charlie having a shot or two .had another mooch round the field by now I'm 3 quarters a way round and out pops another THWACK not a twitch got round to charlie he had 2 so we decided to call it a night and save the rest for a early morning raid Thursday P.S these bunnies were shot by two experienced adults with B.A.S.A. insurance not as one of this forums member quoted b.a.s.a is for part time shooter and kids the minority doesn't it make you laugh HAPPY HUNTING DAVY Quote Link to post
