Foxes won this weekend

Yesterday evening and this morning first light saw me stalking for foxes . They certainly gave me the run around I only saw 1 last night and I spotted it just as I came arond a dry stone wall , we stared each other out for about 3 or 4 mins before he decided to make an exit without offering a shot

 

5.30am this morning I spied a fox in some rushes approx 200 yards away , I lay down with the bipod out but couldnt see the fox clearly enough for a shot so I had to move a little , the fox must have seen movement and off he went.

 

I was then spying some ground in front of me when I turned round here was a nice big fox scarpering across the field towards me but I couldnt get a shot.

 

 

Then I circled round a big thistle field and skirted up the dge of a small plantation , when out shot another fox in front of me , I shouted but this one never stopped either , could have dropped it with a shotgun

 

So the foxes won the day , they wont win next weekend when we look for them with the lamp ...........eh David !!

you get them mate and it will be all the more sweeter after they have gave you the run about. thats some nice ground you have there. it looks perfect for foxes with those bits of woods and tree lines, i would love a place with some big open fields like that

What superb looking ground. It looks like a picture postcard setting. And what a place to shoot.

nah dropper he's just getting slow seriously though mate good post just goes to show you cant get them all the time but when you do its all the sweeter. are you coming back up to gods country this weekend mate, i think there'll be pigeons needin some attention at roxburgh and we can have a shine friday night if you like.
