Competition rules!!!!

Recommended Posts

There is allways going to be people trying to find fault and make things more complicated !! If a dog wins and then cannot, for whatever reason, make the next round, then the other dog gets a bye!!!!! In the Waterloo Cup, the F.A. Cup, whatever, a beaten competitor doe's not get a second chance ! That is simply the luck of the draw !! And as for "home ground" advantage, doe's anyne seriously believe that a dog knows where a rabbit is going to clap or make it's run on any given night ??? Give me a break !!!! It's supposed to be a bit of fun, and to get the real dog men and dogs out for a bit of sport !!

Cheers.

i agree with 95% of the above post but i do beleave, well no i know that a dog that works certain ground often knows were the rabbits are making cover for,but who gives a shit thats the way the cookie crumbles live with it :clapper: i say enter are dont :tongue2: that dog will not be runing on its own ground all the way through the comp,so its an even thing at the end of the day for all, mark

In addition to the rules it'll be acceptable for you to pass on runs to the other person, ie.....if your dog has a slight strain and you feel he needs to be rested for 5 minutes and kept on his slip, the other person can continue to take every run and it'll be down to you to make up any deficit within the time period.......

For those of you who are entered in this competition here are the rules, once these are agreed to and you've entered, these are non negotiable under and no exceptions will be made. These rules are for your benefit and to ensure a clear and even playing field!!!!

This will be run starting with 16 dogs, running on a night, one entry per person, on the night it will be 2 dogs the 2 owners and a judge who is to be a neutral party. Alternate slips for a time period of 3 hours, you each slip your own dog and lamp your own rabbits, i suggest no slip leads so there's no confusion with accidental slips, if the dog is slipped that counts as a run, if your dog misses the rabbit its in pursuit of, but then takes up the chase of another on the way back that is not a kill, it has to be the rabbit you first slipped on. If at the end of the time period its all even, then it goes to sudden death, alternate slips till someone misses!!!! Most rabbits in the bag wins the night and goes through to the next round!!!!

Entry fee is going to be £50 Once you read the rules and agree to them you enter and pay your money, this is non refundable, be clear about this as there will be no exceptions as this is the prize money for the winner and runner up. If you fail to show for your leg of the heat then the other person automatically moves on to the next round. When you have been confirmed a place in the competition you will need to send me a message with your details and the dog you're entering and its name with a picture, these will be checked to be right on the night by the judge. Once everyone has paid and sent details to me, people will be paired off, as much as possible the first heat will be pairing people that are closest to each other, but you must be aware that you might need to travel for the later heats to meet up with people who you're up against. When you're paired up, the 2 competitors will be given each others contact details along with the judge and it will be down to yourselves to decide what land you go on, if you cant decide and no compromise can be reached, you'll have one chance of coming to land i put on (north east) if you dont agree to that you'll be disqualified, if one person turns up, they move onto the next heat.

All money will have to be in by the 1st September and the competition will start the 1st of November, 4 heats will be run, one heat a month with the final taking place in Febuary. You'll have to decide when you want to have your run off through the month, if you cant decide on a date that suits both parties, then the date will be set for you on the night there is no moon on the lunar calender. If you cant or dont turn up you'll be disqualified.

The final will take place in the North East on land heavily populated with rabbits where you can expect to be taking 60+ rabbits!! The final will be judged by myself and Woodga, and will be filmed. (Unles me or woodga are in the final) therefore an independant judge will be put in place.

As stated, if you fail to turn up on the night you'll be out the competition, if you're dog gets injured before or during the competition and cant run on, then you'll be out the competition, this will be non negotiable...ie if you're dog gets knocked up half way through its heat and cant continue the other person must beat the opponents dog with killed rabbits within the time limit to win!!! This is not a retrieving competition, purely most rabbits killed wins the night!!!!!

When you are paired off, on the night you go out, it should only be the 2 competitors and a judge, i suggest that you keep the location to yourselves so as you get no unwanted attention!!!

The judges decision is final!!!!!

I know it may seem a bit harsh in places but this is for your benefit if you enter the competition!!!

Accomodation has been offered by Chartpolski for one person and kennel space for your dog and Woodga has done the same, for the finalists if needed!!!!

One last point to remember......the final will be held on land that has livestock, so dogs will have to be steady with stock!!!!!!!

You seem to have the bases covered,I hope this is a success ,and goes off without acrimony,my two youngsters are a litle too green just yey.Fair play to you for putting it on ,all the best with it.Inan.

Obviously this goes without saying but i've been asked to reiterate this point................

When and if people come up here and have the use of land we put on, this is purely for that one night.......anyone who's caught back out on land we've put them on, will find themselves in all manner of shit!!!.......... :big_boss::big_boss:

just thought of another rule that should be in  at this rate we will need a 4th official like rugby :clapper:

NO kicking or triping up of the rabbits, as they go past, if they runn in to you , well thats ok so long as it wasn't deliberate.

do you all agree??????

It might just happen as an instinctive reaction ! What happens then !! It could lead to all sorts of arguments, like "I didn't kick it, it ran into my foot " !!, Etc. It may sound very unsporting of me, but if you and your dog are working as a team, why not give your dog every advantage ??? The judge will have his work cut out deciding if it was a kick or an accident !! I believe in keeping it as simple as possible.

Cheers.

I know this happens sometimes from time to time, but just for the simple reason this is gonna be filmed and put out to the public on DVD, i think it would probably put us in a bad light if some anti group got hold of one and there we are kicking rabbits 3 foot in the air!!!!!!

Besides i'm shit at football so cant hit one anyway........ :icon_redface::icon_redface:
