mullet

found a big sandy bay full of mullet but i have no idea how to catch them any one on here had good results on this fish and can they be caught on the fly?

Depends where it is mate.

Round here in the marina they fall for basic bread. Either using a float and weighed down with Split Shot or just floated on the surface.

I'd use a fairly small hook mate, maybe a size 4?

They can be caught on the fly and they are less spooked by this method. They go like stink on a fly rod, they are a thick set powerfull fish. Bread is also a good bait how ever you present it but be sure the method is delicate as they can be real finicky, I've had them take the bread from a size 8 time and time again, well frustrating. I cant read that well Malt,I just take his word for it,if he had told me it was charcaradon charcarias I would have just taken his word for it,gullible me

Caught on ragworm, just under 4lb off the beach west coast of scotland. Lost a similar size one in the surf.
