Which terrier

I am looking for a terrier which is a bit of an all rounder being able to take ferreting for marking and maybe on the odd fox? Just woundering what terrier you would think i had a jack russel in mind.?

Your looking for a jack russel to mark for rabbits while ferreting and go to ground on a fox............. Your not asking for a lot eh

the trouble with having a terrier that works rabbits and foxes is you'll be costantly digging it out of rabbit holes....better with a lurcher

My wee jrt is great ferreting dog, marks follows action etc, but has been known to try and follow ferrets down holes. Small enough to get down rabbit holes to.

ive herd ward terriers are good at all that,give him a bell.and hes got some good ferrets to go with a good terrier.

That must be one of the worse myths ive heard one of my mates who i dig with has always took one of his digging terriers ferreting when he goes and they do a real good job of marking earths etc and never go to ground on rabbits yet last season twice last season i had lads down with good digging dogs that we had been digging to all season and we dug to them on rabbits
