Biffo1262 0
There are many, many things you can do my friend some practical and some just bling. Whatever you do they are real fun guns to work on and shoot. Within certain constraints ie the temperature they are also very accurate. Mine, below has an AR2078 vented stock, MaxZbulk CO2 bulk adapter with pressure gauge, 12 oz paintball bottle with preset adapter, 9-13" JSR Pro swivel/tilt bipod, SMK 3-9x40 mil dot scope, Logun CCFC Carbon Fibre silencer fitted using a Julian Bond custom made 1/2"unf adapter, Rowan Engineering multishot magazine (this gun is the one featured on their website), satin Silver finish Uncle Mike's swivels and studs with Trail sling, Archer oversize bolt and the whole thing tuned by Ian Lamb of QBTune to 11.3ft/lbs Edited July 28, 2008 by Biffo1262 Quote Link to post
Biffo1262 0
I obtained this AR2079 in a rather sorry state with a split stock and bent barrel. It leaked like a sieve and put out 4ft//lbs. I bought it because it's a .177 and I have the wherewithall to put it right for next to nothing. The barrel was straightened with the use of a heavy rubber mallet and two softwood blocks and the stock was repaired with a metal dowel and Gorilla glue. The stock has been reshaped as I didn't like all those sharp and angular edges on the smaller 79 target stock. The length of pull has been increased with the insertion of a 3/4" Aluminium spacer at the butt and the short grip (previous owner had sanded it down far too much) improved by reworking the hand grip higher up the stock and an Aluminium heel plate. The stock has been refinished, after a total strip using Nitromors, with three coats of Satin Cherry Stain. I have made my own Aluminium long bolts for all my rifles now and they seem to be rather popular with my club mates too. Tuned by myself and a full reseal it now puts out 11.3ft/lbs and groups within 20mm at 40/45yds. All in all this Sow's Ear has been turned into, if not a Silk Purse, something I am rather pleased with. I just love these guns and this one cost me next to nothing to refurbish after buying it quite cheaply (not really surprising given the state of it). Butch I agree Little Butch because the world is a sorry state already let alone white kids trying to talk just like black kids I was sick and tired of that crap when I was living in London with the white kids acting like wannabe yardis with all the 'init' crap and fake Jamaican accents. It's not English and has no place on a forum!!! Rant off! Quote Link to post
