Malt 379
They keep sending my brother estimated tax bills every year. I think he's up to about £6000 now. He hasn't been self employed for about 4 years either.

craftycarper 0
my eldest was self employed for about a month and a half, then registered with a agency and has been working on and off as a paye for the last two years (more off than on but thats another story) but still keeps getting letters. We have rung them, written to them and still they keep persisting.
Guest SJM
I think these kind of things are common in computerised systems, I get a letter every year from DEFRA about sheep and goats, I am supposed to fill it in and tell them how many I have etc even though I filled in and sent them a form to say I no longer kept sheep about 3 yrs ago I always get a follow up letter a few months later saying if I dont send the form back I will get into trouble etc etc etc etc

boris b 1
the system does not work like that , if you are registered as self employed you have to file a return or you keep getting the letters ignore them end up with a estimated bill that will be huge then get them turn up on your door . this is a government department remember that it does not no what logic or common sense is .
