lonedigga 23
It started off o.k with me,my boy and the lurcher doing a few miles along the local canal towpath on bikes (the lurcher was on foot) . On the the home stretch i heard a motorbike and realized it was on the towpath so called the dog to me.Too late, next thing the dog is airborne but hits the ground running and can't be found.Searched all evening and came home about 11pm, Fed the terriers and met the lurcher coming up the path but with a flap of skin hanging from her back leg sorted now but by my reckoning as she was soaking wet when she got home, she's crossed a big river and a busy dual carriageway to get back,i'm just glad she's home... lonedigga 23
Glad she returned safely, did the biker stop? He didn't have much choice as i know his parents, and the vet won't be paid out of my money,He did seem genuinely sorry but he will pay one way or another as he shouldn't have been where he was with a bike and it could have been my boy he hit. skycat 6,174
Lucky dog! I feckin hate those bikers: we get them on the commons round my way, though I did have a few words once as the little b*****d tried to come flying past me and my dogs. Now they keep out of my way LOL It's bad enough trying to exercise dogs in the countryside nowadays, let alone near towns etc. I know they're only trying to have a bit of fun and probably aren't old enough to ride on the roads, but walkers/dogs and bikes don't mix.
