yes will fire 55 gr ok but will struggle abit with heavy ammo if you have 1in12 twist as it mite find it hard to stablise the bullet. so i would stick to 1in9 like welshdargon has with his that way you can shoot ligher 55 gr bullets and heavy bullets if you want to get more range or have a go at some targets at distance say use 69 gr bullets

I've seen the Tikkas on there, but they're either not cut or cut M14x1 which is a right pain :(

Gotta decide whether I can be bothered to get one cut because I can't afford a new moderator unless I can get someone to do me a deal... My plan was to go to Adenbourne and have a look at both, the SPS Tactical would be great if the balance and weight are OK. My worry with the Tikka is the balance of the Lite, even with inches of barrel missing. But, yours is pretty good now, just a little bit front heavy, so worth a look. Wait and see I think...

Having played with a SPS in the dealers with a PES on the end of it (24"barrel) I am surprised how reasonable the balance was...you would think it terrrible but it was OK! As you know I don't have a Remington but I have spent a bit of time looking at the SPS...seems to get a lot of bad press, but to be honest, it seems ok to me!! Don't know about the SPS Tactical specifically though!

Looks like I'm ending up with 2 threads for the mods but I can understand that 3 different threads is not ideal!
