Printer 34
Installed in March 2008 at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) Factory of the Future (Boeing / Rolls Royce / Univ. of Sheffield) in Sheffield, they stand, or did when I last looked at over 35 meters tall, are these to be used in Gordon Browns plan for his £100 billion green energy revolution in the UK? One blade broken off...... the other has a crack in it, if that fell on you, you would know about it.

Caravan Monster 323
We' ve got manufacturers of the bloody things trying to sell them to the local villages round here. As I understand it, they wear out before they have produced as much energy as they take to manufacture and construct. Plenty profitable for the companies selling them, not so good for the consumer, environment, or indeed, the shareholders in the electric company.
Guest Ditch_Shitter
We have those f*ckers just north of here. White ones. Talk about a blot on the landscape! Ye look out over a vast, panoramic vista of unspoiled countryside - at Those f*cking things! But, like Butcher Boy says ..... I think what we need over here is rain and gloom generated power. We could rock with that!
Malt 379
They're barking up the wrong tree, IMHO. We live on a group of islands, surrounded by the sea which goes in & out twice a day without fail. More should be done on tidal power.
Gav 1,708
We have just had the decision that the largest wind farm in europe wont go ahead here any more, although they are still debateing plans for a smaller scale one. The trouble is though they want to errect them here as we have lots of wind (no trees see) but then when its windy they stop turning to avoid damage, would like to see how they would fair in a 140mph wind at 180 meters tall.
