Jerking

Seems that we have a few Pike anglers on the site, so.

 

How many of ye use this method, jerk baiting that is. I find this method of Pike angling to be very productive.

yes i'd have to agree , but i much prefer to jerk , minnows , far more productive than most rubber baits , in fact you dont just catch pie , but sometimes large trout aswell

Sind and draw is the best method of catching Pike, I have never failed on any waters that I fish using this method

 

Pike are suckers for dying fished.... and a dead wobbled Roach wil nail them all the time

I've had a set up for about a year now and haven't used it yet (how sad is that) but It has been put to use by two of my friends and it has produced on four out of four outings. Both of my friends rate them, I've also got some smart Perch and Pike jeck baits aswell made by Toothy Critter I think.

Lol that made me laugh as I thought the same thing ( word use that was) before looking at the thread and I am a woman too, shame on me.

No seriously though have not done that much jerking to be honest. I sea fish not freshwater and only jerk if I spin lures/worms/etc but don't get the opportunity to do that much really as I associate jerking with pirks and so on and don't get the chance to fish in deeper water on shore/pier/rocks very often and don't do much boating as it is expensive ( I think) and also I get sea sick which doesn't help.

Would have to say though that if I were ever to take up freshwater it would be fishing for the likes of pike/zander/perch etc as I enjoy the challenge of hooking a predatory fish which could be why I enjoy bass, mackerel and pollack fishing.

this is all i use to catch my pike well i only use this method and woobbling a dead bait the wobbling usually produces the bigger fish but he other day i hada a nice 10 pounder on a jerk bait a perch stile hell of a fit and hell of a take,

but this week i been inventing little things and a few rabbits i shot my dad kept the tail i dont know why but i though it looked like a little mouse to i got to tandum salmon hooks joined them by wire and then i tied one end of the tail to one hook and the other end to another hook then i put a bit of red goats fur a the top end of the fly/surface lure and then i fished it slowly accross the surfact like a little mouse my second cast i had a 2 pounder 5 casnt had a 4 pound then about 10 minutes later had an 8 pounder i know they are only jack pike but i do the pike fishing for sport its such great fun but then i do my trout salmon and sea trout fishing for sport and table mainly trout for table i like to release my salmon unless its a beauty if i can get some pictures up i will show them
