scotlandforever 0
i would reekin they would be about £14 a box going on i bought a box of 2 /34" 42gr for £10 last week Jason Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Gamebore 3.5" Steel "Mammoth" would be around £16/25, Gamebore Tungsten Matrix 3.5" around £75/25 Realistically there is no need to fire a 3.5" load at anything. Im thinking goose is your main target, then a 3" shell with 36g of Steel in it will be ample, same with Bismuth, 3" 46gr is way more than adequate. It will save your pocket a great deal by using 3". Deker 3,491
Unless you have a VERY specific need for some outrageous 3.5" I agree with SS, 2.75-3", plenty of choice, plenty of stopping power and a LOT cheaper on the whole. Bear in mind cartridges have got a lot more powerful over the years..and of course you will really need to get your shoulder behind these 3.5 as well PS £75 for 25..f**k me...is that right... £3 each... ....... Thank heavens 2.75 5's do most things for me!! and......7.5-8 for clays! Quote Link to post
kiwi 4
go the 3.5 inch, they just fold geese mate............i use remington and federal and compared to a 3inch the bigger rounds are not even that much of an increase in recoil....those russians are soft to shoot anyway. Quote Link to post
lgray88 4
ach no worries im a big lad il manage , it was jsut out of interest realy to try the 3.5s i dont have much use for it been using 3's at the moment and the 2.75 ,tryed some of the smaller stuff when i first got it but i fired off 3 shots and the last didnt eject liam Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
If it is a new gun then it may be stiff for the first 100 rounds or so and may not eject the odd cartridge, it will settle soon though. So there is no need to fire a bigger shell just to cycle the action. I know the 3.5" will most definitely do the job but is there really a need, I fired some 3.5" Winchester steel at geese and fair enough they killed it but I also fired Remington Nitro Steel 3" 32g and they dropped them dead too. Regards SS P.S Yes Deker, Tungsten Matrix 3.5" is £3 a shot, I'd be crying if I missed Quote Link to post
lgray88 4
i totally agree SS theres no way i could justify shooting 3.5's anyway but id just bought 10 or so just for the sake of trying them out where i come from there is me and one other guy who have shotguns capable of 3.5" so ive never tried it , but generally i will just be working with smaller load as you say. liam Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
P.S Yes Deker, Tungsten Matrix 3.5" is £3 a shot, I'd be crying if I missed That's very restrained of you SS, I'd be picking up the pieces and putting them back together!!!! Quote Link to post
