I used to use 1 part kebab meat, 1 part loose wheat, 2 parts used frying oil (kebab juice) and 4 parts strawberry syrup. :D

Blend until it becomes a thick paste. Add warm water if you need to because it can get like concrete.

Used to use it in areas set up for shooting. Clear view with a backstop etc... pre-bait for a few days first.

Also used to smear it on traps. Had good results and still use it for big trapping jobs when other stuff isn't working.

Most times, now, I just bromadiolone because I want them dead. :D

Important tip though... don't use a blender you want to use for anything else. Your mum/girlfriend/wife/sister etc won't be impressed when they see you blending that shit in it. :D

Only set the traps when I see signs of rats about. Had seen some signs last week and usually get regular results with Maltesers but after a chat with MT the other night, a bird feeder fat ball produced 2 adults in the catch alive this morning. Cheers, D.

if im shooting in a small place where the rats can get away easily i use a tub of nutella they love it, otherwise if on a large peice of grass or whatever i like to use burnt toast but they can easily walk off with it just be quick on the shots mate and youll sort them they much prefer toast than nutella though, iv also used nutella with a tin of tuna just a bit closer and they always go for the nutella 1st :thumbs:

Mars bars and apparently bounty bars too, both smashed to release lots of odours. Peanut butter, chocolate, oily fish, meat, in fact if we can eat it they can too.

Just like Carp fishing though, after a while a change of bait can produce good results.

Cheers
