Seriously you need to watch that timeout. My dad is a bee-keeper and it's quite common for 'keepers to get stung so often that they do build up a sort of immunity. The stings are then hardly a problem, almost like a weak nettle sting. Unfortunately what then sometimes happens is that over time, as they continue to get stung, they sort of go through that immunity and come out the other side allergic. Suddenly they go from nothing to a serious allergic reaction to a single sting - sometimes anaphalactic(?) shock. It really would be worth you having some antihistamine tablets in the car and at home. Might not be the same with wasps of course. Quote Link to post
ratcatcher 0
I hav'nt had any calls for wasps yet.Totaly over run with ant jobs though. If any one has some photos of hornets nests I would like a look at them because you don't get them up in the north east.Pharos ants are a real rarity too. I get loads of calls early in the season from people thinging they have a wasp nest.......when in reality it is just queen wasps coming out of hibernation. To save a journey.....i always ask if it is a "Big" wasp.......it usually is.....and then i tell them it is nothing to worry about. If it is a tiny wasp.........then that is the first worker of the year and a nest will be close by. Rolfe. Quote Link to post
