Gaining new land

Recommended Posts

Hello i am in need of a letter that some one may use asking for land permission

people say they sent letters to local farmers/landowners asking if they may use their land for hunting eg...

Does anybody have a sample letter saved onto their pc that they could share with me. as i find it hard to word letters correctly.

Many thanks Danny :)

look in the airgun section, theres a pinned post at the top of page for shooting permission, maybe use that, just swapping the word "shooting" for ferreting

found it mate and have used it and may have my first proper piece of permission, waiting for a phone call tomorroe :)

Just my opinion Danny,Forget the letter.First thing look around find out where and who's land the rabbits are on.No point getting permission where its crap. Smarten yourself up and go see the farmer in person, ON YOUR OWN, and offer an exchange,ie help at what ever you think you could do.Summers not far off crops busy time for farmers.Ferreting better than guns but once your on who knows. Good luck to you. :victory:

the best way i have found, especialy for young lads is beating on a driven game shoot, find out all the little shoots in your area. then go round asking the keepers if they want any extra beaters.

once your on beating keep your nose clean do as the keepers ask, once they trust you you should get some, or at least get invited of people that are already on there.

I am 14 and i gained permission of three farms the same way ask for ferreting permission then airgun permission so they are gaining trust with you and then me and my dad drop in and ask for shotgun permission simple. But make sure you are polite and dont look scruffy like me.

lol Only Joking

What i did was talk to the farmers wife as he wasnt in. talked to her a bit ( i was on my own ) i told her my intentions of what i would do if i was granted permission. I then gave her the letter with contact details on the end . she said she was going to phone me to day but still waiting. hopefully i get a phonecall though

letters just dont work ( peolple like to see who they are letting on there land) , get out there and make yourself known . all my permission has come from driving to the farms and saying hello , tell them you have a couple of ferrets and would they like some rabbits cleared on a sunday morning when you wouldnt be bothering anyone.

even if they say no say you understand completely but could you leave your number , address and car reg because if you get a neighbouring farm they will see your motor parked and may just get back to you .

armed with your new permission you can then go to the neighbouring farm and tell him you do a bit for joe bloggs , before you know it you will have bundles and you will be asked to clean up at night with an air rifle etc ..

offer to help out at harvest for a couple of hours bailing aswell as this when they most need help .

oh and a bottle of port at xmas is always a nice jesture
