Guest fight the ban Posted March 31, 2008 Report Share Posted March 31, 2008 I was out to day walking dogs today when i saw a totally white hen pheasant just wondering if anyone knows wat breed it is or if its possible to get albio pheasants. 100% sure it was a pheasant not a pidgeon or dove. Yes you can get white phessies its traditional on shoots up here to put a couple of whites out and the unfortunate gun to put 50 quid into the beaters pot or sweep.There was a shoot i believe put out over 1000 white ones.. one year.. Guest little_lloyd Posted March 31, 2008 Report Share Posted March 31, 2008 Ive seen white birds,, Blac birds,, When i worked on a hatchery for a few days i came across a faifr amount of white birds and black birds,, Shoots fine people for shooting them sometimes to raise money,, its not un-common fir Other birds such as reeves.golden pheasnts,, Guinea fowl etc to be realsed to. Ossie 11 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Share Posted March 31, 2008 there's an estate few villages away that used to stock almost exclusively black birds. they've still got plenty of wild-bred ones knocking about. poacher-proofing, i believe was the idea behind it. white birds are sometimes released as markers, to find out how far the birds are travelling.
