Cheshire JP 0
Hey guys just about to get a the new S410 for takin out some bunnys, not sure what Cal to go for .. 177 we all know 177 has a better/ flater curve and will fly faster fps than the .22 as the pellets are mostly half the weight, but then .22 has that bit more of a Wack when it hits + i have 20 tins of Acupell left :s... What u guys think.. Then if i got the .22 do u think if i wanted to try the .177 i could just get a .177 barrle pop that on and give that blast.. I dont know what to try ............... SharpShooter14 0
Ahh the ongoing debate as to .177 vs. .22. It depends on your ranges, the quarry species, your accuracy and mainly your personal preferance. I would start off in .22 personally and see how you get on with it (i always use .22). Good Luck Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
177 for standard 12ftlb power. flater and can shoot up to 40 yards where 22 i find max range 30 to 35 at a push. Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Yet another .177/.22 question! Both have their advantages & disadvantages. Try to have a go of both if you can, & then see which one you prefer. Quote Link to post
jimi 0
I had a rapid7 in .22 for 12 years and i had great fun with it but i decided i would like a change. So i went for an AA s410 classic in .177 and i am so glad i made the change. You have a flat trajectory and a much faster fps. the accuracy is unbelievable too. Quote Link to post
Cheshire JP 0
thanks for The Help peeps, from what u said and a little thinking i think ill be going for AA S410k Cal, 177 like u say flatter trajectory And higher fps, All good stuff.. If i do wanna C the diff in 22 ill fit a 22 cal barrle.. as the s410 Iner workings ie vale chambers springs and so on are all the same ill be finding out if the bolt action and the multie shot mag action is the same or not.. even tho the pellets in 177 are smaller.. If anyone dos know if anything other than a barrle change is need'ed to get from 177 - 22 cal let me know plz.. But i think i need a change from .22 after 16 years of .22 and Tuning .22 maybe i should now take a look at 177 Well thanks once again for the advise chaps and chap'ets Happy hunting its summer soon and many many many bunnys to go get. P.s lol my little 2 year old son, and my 3 year old daughter didnt want me to go shooting over the easter weekend cos they didnt want daddy to get the easter bunny befor they got an easter egg haha, wish i was that young again Edited April 1, 2008 by Cheshire JP Quote Link to post
