Mr_Logic 5
Went out this evening after foxy, was originally going to go out and zero, with the 243 and some deer ammo, but it was late by the time I'd sat through all the traffic on the motorways Mooched about for 2-3 hours and saw bugger all, lots of deer and not a lot else. Just as we were saying we'd had enough, spotted a fox just coming out of a hole in the muck heap. He stayed sat in the straw for a while, we were 280-300 yards when we saw him first off. Went in a bit closer, somewhere between 200 and 250, and had a shot off the bipod. Squeezed that one, and took the back of his head off. While it's not by any stretch the longest fox shot ever, it's my longest successful shot by a distance, and I'm chuffed with it, and the performance of the rifle. My mate who came out shooting also wanted to see a bunny evaporate, luckily on the way back to the car there was one so it exploded, as they do when faced with 243 58gr at 50 yards Fox pictured never moved, head just went back into the straw with the force of the impact, not even a twitch. I'm still mulling the 223 choice, but an RWS similar to the 243 seems to be a good choice right now... Quote Link to post

If we drop foxy out that far on the lamp without first making a note of the drop, we'll need a taxi home because it won't just be the one bottle Quote Link to post
