had a look at a 20 bore version this week , horrible , way off ballance and not nearly as comfortable as the 410 , was thinking of getting the 20 bore version but not going to bother now

cheers boys.

WRF- yes, its a silencer, its a hushpower. They are towards £500 new but the lad was wanting £350 for it and its mint condition. I part exd my escort, and was very happy with what i got for that.

moley, i was looking at the 20 too, but decided against as well.

Will let you know what i think of the difference in sound compared to my last 410. I was going to have a good "play" this weekend but ive got a new farm that needs moling asap so it wont be till next week before i have some fun!

Hello Trappa

I'm interested in this gun myself.

Please can you let me know how the gun performs and how quiet it is.

Do you think I could shoot foxes in my garden at close range with one of these 410's.

Is it powerful enough for a humane fox kill at 20 yards ? and if so using what shot ?

How about that single bullet from Eley - how accurate are they ?

Do you think you could fit a telescopic sight tone of these 410's for accurate use of the single bullet ?

Damn foxes !!

  • 4 weeks later...

I bought one of these s/h a couple of weeks ago for ratting more than anything. Ive found it to be excellent! Its great being able to hit those scaly tails which are too quick to hit with the rimmy/airrifle :gunsmilie: .

I patterned mine at 25yds and found it to shoot a little high which isnt a problem what was good was the tightness of the pattern. I believe the barrel is full choke on these shotties which is ideal giving that the shot load is a good deal less than in a '12'.

Ive put on a length of bicycle inner tube onto the mod which protects it from knocks and also gives a little more moderation. I also adapted my deben mini pro scope mount so its fits onto the mossbergs barrel enabling me to use my gun lamp.

Just to add i found standard 2 1/2" carts to be quieter than the 3" subsonic carts..Go figure??
