I went to the knebworth game fair today and showed my terriers. They won a few rossetts but the main thig that bothered me was the following conversation i heard.

Judge 1: so [bANNED TEXT] do you think

Judge 2: that one but its got no balls so i cant

This is appaling just because my dog has no balls he could give it the prize. What is all this about. I know some people say you cant work a dog if its been done but both of my dogs work and theyve both been done and my little bitch is showing great potential and shes been done.

Can anyone answer this for me. Whats difference does it make if its got it :censored: or not?

They are going on the same rulling that they use in pedigree shows where the dog picked should be the best of its breed and able to produce others in the same line of its breed . not having any doesnt mean it cant work though lol

That is incorrect. You CAN show a spayed or castrated dog without special permission at ANY KC show. Dog showing regardless of whether its a Terrier show or a KC champ show, is a beauty contest, nothing else at all, and as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, in this case the judge, what pleases his eye will win.

Dawn.

Maybe the judge likes the look of a dog's bollocks! Bloody pervert!

I absolutely agree with you, but like I say a dog show is a beauty contest.

I think that castration and spaying is acceptable now is because some people had bitches spayed and didnt get permission to show them (how it used to be, or the dog needed to have had registered progeny) in some breeds, like Shelties, Collies, people were known to have had bitches spayed as it improved their coats, making them thicker and more desirable etc.. Some breeds however, spaying and castration can ruin a coat, like a Spaniel for example. With not being able to tell if a bitch was spayed it was decided that a male or female neutered dog could be showed without special permission, with regards to the males, the breed standard still states in each and every one, that the dog should have 2 testicles descended into the scrotum, so judges really shouldnt place a castrated male if going on that alone. make you own minds up. :D
