Green Day - Time of your life. This one gives me happy memories too but still makes me

i had a room mate for three years at school, who died when he accidiently inhailed rat poison when gassing them on his farm, at his funneral this song was played and as everyone left an flock of geese came over singing in a perfect triangle, really amazing how things like that happen at the perfect time. he was a real country boy and one to remember.

Eva Cassidy's "Fields of Gold" sets me off. my aunt died in November after battling cancer for 2 years. it was played at her funeral, me & my mum were in bits

The Fureys "First Leaves of Autumn" is another one for me. my dad plays it, proper sad song.

Terry Reid's version of "Stay With Me Baby" is not good when you've just been dumped, "Better Man" by Pearl Jam, and "Silent All These Years" by Tori amos will get you going if you're in a shit relationship.

i sing at the Busker's Night at a pub a few miles away, the whole pub goes silent, and half of them have a tear in their eye by the time i've finished "The Fields of Athenry", or "the Hangman & the Papist". the bloke who runs it has asked me to learn some cheerful songs... he's banned me from singing "The Green Fields of France"!
