We had a day ferreting today it was -6 and really frosty got down the dales and Tomo phoned the keeper to see where to go he told us to do 2 woods first wood we only caught a few rabbits and a rat so we moved to the other spot got 5 out of one warren and 2 out of a building netted up the next warren dropped the ferrets in no rabbits bolted but a stoat in ermine showed went back in then bolted up a tree so we moved on the next warren had another stoat in this bolted and Tara caught and killed it but took a few nips in the process the ferrets were on a kill when we dug down it was some young rabbits the stoat must have been on them. we then moved to a heap of tyres only got 1 out but there was more in but they gave the ferrets the run around so we moved to the next wood did the warrens in the fields around the wood and started to bolt a good few into the purse nets and longnets with the dogs catching some that missed the nets it was getting on and the last warren we did tomo's good jill went missing couldn't find it with the box we thought it had slipped away useen or the collar had packed in after a long wait Tomo spotted her :toast: she had been on a kill and the collar had stopped working had a good day but was tired when we finished.
