kenny243 97
We don't have a restriction. So it's full power if you like 1 Quote Link to post
kenny243 97
I'm shooting 25 grain slugs at 920 fps because they tend to stabilize good at this speed but I had it crankt up to 990 fps. That was about 90 procent of its full potential I guess. Still had some clicks to go and the reg was at 110 I suppose I could further up in reg if I wanted to . Quote Link to post
philpot 5,185
You are lucky as we have to jump through hoops to get a firearms license. I have had two Impacts .25 fac (full power), really good guns although mine were the earlier models, Mk1 and 2 so not suited to slugs however 25.4gr Air Arms Field pellets certainly did the business. I no longer have them switching to rimfire as part of a reorganisation in my shooting. Phil Quote Link to post

In the UK, if an air rifle is below 12fpe, no license is required but over 12fpe, a firearms license is required and that is not always easy to get and has to be approved by the police. Now you know why in UK we have to shoot our live quarry through the head in the main if shooting with 12fpe guns. Each fac gun we buy, we have to get what is called a 'variation' to our fac license or what we call a 'slot', for example, I have just sold my .22 rimfire back to the shop as it was not accurate but before I could buy another rimfire of the same cal, I had to submit my license for the police to add another 'slot' on my license so I could replace the gun which took 7 weeks................. Later this year my shotgun and firearms licenses will need to be renewed which is pure hassle needing a doctors statement to say you are safe in their opinion to have the licenses and that costs between £50 and £200 to the doctor, then you now need two people to act as referees to say you are safe to have guns and lastly it will cost nearly £200 to renew the licenses and take anywhere up to 6 months to get your license back meaning we cannot buy any ammunition as we need to show the license to the shop when buying cartridges / rifle ammo. I am lucky as my wife has the same licenses as I do so my wife in effect can buy the ammo while I am waiting for my new license as her licenses don't run out for another year. Our government want to make things much harder for us by changing the licenses, clearly they have no idea what they are doing ( which appears to be every decision they have made since coming into power) as this will make no difference to public safety which is what they are saying the changes are for, yet another example of people making decisions who do not understand the subject they are wanting to change. You see how much worse off we are in England with fools running the country. Phil Quote Link to post

I remember 'Ted's Holdover ' in the USA swears by Hades in his FX Impact guns and regards them as the best hunting pellet although I believe he now uses slugs more than pellets. They are a pellet I have never tried, in part due to the small stock of .25 cal pellets that I needed but they are on my radar to try in my .177 sub 12. Quote Link to post
