Cock finch club foot

Hi all, ive a cock goldfinch this years bird and noticed one of his feet is clubbed  he's fit and healthy, would he still tread a hen? Has anyone every had a cock bird similar that still capable of breeding?

I've heard of one legged finches doing the job so I wouldn't think it will stop him.

What are your perches like as they could be a factor in why it has a clubbed foot,i used to always have different size perches so there feet would have to grip differently.But i have known of birds with bad feet like yours breed ok, the best of luck with him mate..

When I used to bread budgies I’d get the odd one with club foot but I’d cull them . I didn’t want to breed from them in case it was hereditary.

Thank you very much for your reply, the perches are 12mm plastic ones, I will try some different sizes and see if that helps.

That's good to know mate, I will have to make sure he's supper fit when the breeding season is here to help my chances of him filling eggs.
