Southwell Minster....and the Church

Recommended Posts

So I had a wander round this place today...took this picture of this notice....read the bottom...the Church of England only contributed 25 % ...

Can you believe with all it's millions it will only pay for a quarter of the upkeep of its own building...900 year old bit of English history belonging to them....and they don't want to put there hand in there pocket....

They own over 16000 buildings and about 40 cathedrals and about 12000 of those are listed buildings...  Soon run out of money if they had to pay for all them buildings , that's why parishes look after themselves money wise ..

How many guns are sold in there or how many casino's are in there 😂😂😂

What’s that got to do with it ? I wasn’t quoting anyone, just making an observation. Evidently they lent Sir John Hall the money to build it and when it was sold they kept a 10% share.

Cheers

Do they own the companies?? You said they own arms manufacturers and casinos ..

Where it is against their policy to have direct shares in gambling companies .

There investment policy also prohibites having shares in arms organisations .. which also prohibites them having shares in companies that gain more than 10% of there annual turn over from strategic military sales ..

No they don't ... They did through a third party investment and when they realised they ended their investment.. policies change , but clearly it's more sensational to report on old and false news articles
