Used to go kelmarsh every year but most the dogs never seen a days graft, i had some women contact me couple of weeks ago wanting a pup, she said she had 9 lurchers and 3 Jack Russels, i asked how you find the time to walk that lot never mind work them , i made it clear she wasn't getting a pup from me to sit in a kennel until show day,

Spoke to my mate last night and he said he can make any type of collar and if you send me pics of what you want he will do it, he makes them in between saddles, tack for house guards, it could take him 3/4 weeks depending on what he's got on,

I'll try delete some stuff and pm you my number

Thanks for the reply.

It sounds a lot for a collar, but taking into consideration the excellent work , the time to make and the cost of the materials it probably isn’t.
Cheers.

Thats not expensive for a good leather collar made from bridle full grain leather and solid brass that is hand stitched. People arnt really interested in leather that much these days. There is a thread on here started by low plains drifter that a few of us are on that hardly gets any interest. People would rather have strong Stuff these days for Lurchers, its good stuff that lasts a long time and its value for money. Cant stand it myself which is why I started making my own leather collar and leads years ago. During covid people were buying it like mad off FB but since then like so many things the fever cooled. The trouble is this chap and KCB used to make stuff first and then sell it and so have I think been left with a few bits to shift. I see KCB trying to shift some on here not long ago. Its all good quality first class stuff as far as I can see and took hours to make and its not something you can learn in five minutes. These blokes are not making much per hour even at the best prices. My advice to anyone making handmade quality items is only ever make to order and never ever compromise on the price you have decided on.

This lad only makes collars in between making saddles and tack for house guards and normally he only makes to order but he had few so gave me them to sell for charity.

Like you say a lot of hard work going into a collar like this, he's making me a driving harness for my 14hh cob, going to look nice on the drives,

I like the driving harness, especially if they have a bit of fancy stuff on. I watch Robert Steinke on youtube and I think hes on a driving website aswell. Hes getting on a bit now but still makessome lovely stuff. Hes wrote a few books on it too

I've sat with him and had a go at hand stitching and I'm useless at it 😂 I'll pop a pic up once he's finished the harness,
