Wife's gone to see her father with my lad. Gives me some time on river. Just made a peg up looks like it might hold some fish. Time will tell. Nice gravel bar running through this area. Bit of company dog . Got munk on. Went to try another spot first. But too much cover f****d my leg up. Lads told me easy to get to. Think the c**ts were pulling my pisser lol.

Bangers made it trot 5k to the swim , then it necked one of them thatchers through dire thirst and then promptly fell over and landed in the undergrowth

Too warm to be fishing still flat water on the river mate you want to head to more fast flowing water more oxygen available for the fish so they will be a little more active at those areas especially on warm days.

I've been fishing past three weeks mate warmer than yesterday. Had some nice fish. That area were I am goes from medium flow to fast flow gravel area. Just that the Calder fishes better on an evening for barbel. Even better when it's gravy looking. Don't like clear water through day. Got me out for a few hours.

Some nice fish mate I thought you would be fishing for trout we don’t have any barbel up this way that I know of ? Mostly trout salmon pike ect. 
Is there more barbel than trout ect in the rivers your way ? 
what’s the barbel like do they put up a good fight ?

Fight like f**k. My lad was shocked. Said even the smaller one put up a fight lol. You think their finished then go again. Said not like carp are they just a dead weight. There designed like F1 motors.

There's nothing in freshwater, in the UK that fights as hard as barbel mate...lad I had down this weekend nearly lost his rods a few times lol...you got to be on the ball

Ugly looking fuckers but they do like powerful mate. Can you get them on the fly and spin or is more carp tactics for them ?
