f**k it, go on then, I’ll give you the time of day for a second:

Are you seriously suggesting that you can give a running dog the same amount of graft in the west of ireland as you can in England and Scotland save for say somewhere like the fells ?…….are you saying that you can put the same amount of tackle in front of them in a day or night on big open terrain like you can in England and Scotland ?……is that what you are telling me ?

Are you telling me that you can drive out any random day or night of the week and see half a dozen big herds of fallow, or groups of Roe or Chinese water deer or muntjac just grazing away in almost every other field ?

Are you also saying that I can drive to multiple places in the West and see 50 hares in big land just going about there business along with a load of wild rabbits and a herd of fallow ?

Is this what you are telling me ?

Just say yes or no ?

Well there's plenty of deer maybe not all species but yes if you know were to look they are there theres foxes in abundance again if your out you'll get them see 50 hares no but you'll definitely put enough up to test your dog every week and also if it's terriers your into there's more than enough game to go at and if you get out and about round were you live which I guess you maybe havnt there some well worked well tested dogs in the west of ireland that would give your 30 second lurcher a good go and the west has some pretty good well tested bull dogs that would make an English man's butt hole flutter your coming on giving out your story's I don't really care what you think of me but I get out and about and travel more than most for some crank like you to be acting like a know it all talking bullshit

Ok, first off in the other thread we wasn’t talking about bulldogs or terriers.

I don’t know the first thing about bulldogs because I have no interest in them.

Secondly, I take it you ain’t over in England or Scotland every week of the season so who are you to tell me what the comparison is ?

I couldn’t give two fucks what your out doing, as long as you are enjoying yourself and enjoying your dogs good for you…..but it’s like this, you came crashing in trying to be smart about things you don’t believe because you wasn’t out in them places every week seeing it and had the cheek to tell someone who has seen it and has lived in both places that they don’t know what they are looking at.

Ive never hunted in Northern Ireland so I don’t know what it’s like so I’d believe you when you told me something about the place, but having driven round Northern Ireland plenty for the last 30 years I can say it don’t look like no 6 Mille Bottom or North Essex or Flitwick when it comes to seeing game.

Life’s like this, as much as I don’t know (and that’s plenty) there’s just as much you don’t know….thats called being sensible !
all the best !

Only a few pures decade or more ago big clumsy things .

Seen a few Tidy deerhound greys but never any really stood out most had descent mouths when the time  come

I've seen lurchers with them in the mix, fella used to have big deerhound/bull/greyhounds, big blue brindles, looked like bull cross but were big massive things close to 30 inch tts. It was these dogs that I saw that couldn't put a bend in a red stag, it was clearing dykes like a horse takes hurdles. Lol

A fast dog that's getting pulled straight away mate

That dogs just missing gears but I day

There’s a section in the book “Of Dogs and Deer” about a day out a group of us had beating muntjac (and a couple of fallow) out of a wood.

Fairly short hop from the block we were beating to another slim block where a few lads were positioned as ambush, one of the lads was running his little pack of mixed terrier/spaniel crosses through the wood, a few of us were blocking out the sides and about 4 lads all with very well worked dogs as ambush in the front.

There was a sheep wire fence up one side which separated the field from a building site, these were lads who were bang at it with fairly decent dogs and deer were still getting missed mate…..dogs miss, it just happens.
Nobody can say 100% a dog should have killed this or that especially from a video.

Out in the field, granted we have all said “should have killed that” and maybe it should or maybe another dog definitely would…..but that how it is, if your sister had bollocks she would be your brother, IF IF IF mate.
