Qbgrey 4,260
Chaps can you still do the application by post? I fill it all in and then send it to the local police force? Or is it online only? Quote Link to post
philpot 5,089
That depends on your police force, some allow some don't. Phil Quote Link to post
mitre 258
Well you know the cost of royal mail sending letters out or forms as gone up first class is mounted up and second class is not so good so knowing a lot of the police force it more convenient and cheaper over online to do you licence that's how I think Quote Link to post
philpot 5,089
I used to hand my paperwork in at my local police station for transferring to the firearms licencing deptartment but it became a bit of a gamble as and when the paperwork would get through if at all....... Phil Quote Link to post
mitre 258
Modern technology not so sure about any thing like that Quote Link to post

Or is it online only? I done mine a conterminous renewal Shotgun & Firearms and it was all online it’s quite lengthy but I just made sure I had everything to hand beforehand before I started, it all went through then the local firearms officer wanted me to send pictures of my safety arrangements that was it no visit I was surprised to be honest, but this was my fourth time of renewal so that might have made a difference. Good luck with your renewal it can be a ball ache especially if your GP don’t do medicals for Shotgun renewals, I had to go private and as your probably aware by law your GP has to release the information so there still doing the work and losing out on a fee they could charge, daft if you ask me. 1 Quote Link to post

The one 8,583
I did mine online but the policeman sent me the link to print the forms off then took my pict on his phone when he called to see me . But its normal police officers that do the checks nows so you can find out when there on shift and hand the paperwork in Quote Link to post
