TX Ethan 3
Alright lads…Some of you may remember me from many years ago as little hunter or Ethan TX….bigmacKT’s grandson. After about 6 years Ive came back to the sport which I sort of strayed away from in about 2019 due to some family issues last night me and bigmac had a drive up to the perm and set the rifles up. He brought the HW100 and I used the FX wildcat. Scoped in for 35 to 40 yards when jimmy realised he left the mags for the HW at homehe wasn’t best pleased. parked up near the paddocks after scoping in and within about 5 minutes spotted the first rabbit in the hedge line. The wildcat is a lovely light piece of kit but anyways with it being a while for myself I got on the floor and took it out. with jimmy forgetting the mags he was limited to what he could do so he sat and waited for a group of rabbits to come back out whilst I had a walk around the paddocks and the field. Fair to say it was busy with life. Took afew out around the paddocks area and one in the farm yard. the wildcat is a great rifle for shooting prone with the weigh of it. Makes it much easier climbing over fences and gates ect… anyways before dusk we went into the back of the farmyard for a look along the hedgerow. Stalked a biggen but it fooked off so had a strole back when I saw movement in the grass?..the grass started to part towards me so I had a glimpse through the scope and saw it was a little hedgehog making his way towards me took my hat off and scooped the little guy up and popped him somewhere more safe…after that we had another Scour of the fields and paddocks and managed to pick another few off with the wildcat before it got too dark…the farm is a lovely walk when the suns going down…it was threatening rain for an hour or two when it started to light drizzle a like the rain tho. stopped for a bite to eat and a drink of pop and went around for another go before we went home. Jimmy sat in the field near the car park while i had another walk around the paddocks. There is a long grass path along the back of the paddocks where I got the last one of the night…they became very skittish after that and were fooking off from 40 yards away. Was a good night first shoot in about 6 years. Here’s some photos lads hope all is well. Until next time TIA Ethan. 3 Quote Link to post
