shaaark 11,211
Evening guys, am after a new HW break barrel springer. Hw99s a tad too small, and don't really want anything with the articulated cocking arm. Weight isn't really an issue, so it'll be between the 80k, 95k and the 98. Does the HW98 have the articulated cocking arm, as that's what I'm leaning towards? Thanks for any replies. Edited June 26 by shaaark Quote Link to post
FLATTOP 4,965
I’ve got a HW97K in 22 flavour full set up strap bag Hawke Eclipse scope and 2 full tins of quality pellets I’d sell it in a heartbeat as I never use it, but what puts me off is the messing about posting it, good luck in your search though there’s plenty about. WataWalloper 3,015
Why not, I found the 97 a cracking rifle, far more accurate than any the break barrels iv had in past but I’m not big into air rifles or guns in general, but no way I’d go back to a break barrel one after this fixed barrel with cocking arm 1 Quote Link to post

shaaark 11,211
@FLATTOP So, do you know if the HW98 has the articulated cocking arm, mate? I've looked online, and I struggle a bit with all that nonsense, but it's a FAAACKIN MINEFIELD!!! 1 Quote Link to post

The 98 looks like a simple break barrel where as the 97 has a lever under the barrel that you cock, I’ve never really been into air rifles to be honest the only real memorable one I had was a pump action Crossman in 177 when I was a youth it was so powerful that I used to shoot milk bottles and used to make an entry and exit hole without smashing the bottle. Daniel cain 47,958
You can pick up a secondhand one from around £300/£500..I would stay way from the thumbhole stocks ,as they crack)split,I swapped the stock on my old sirocco to a thumbhole, big mistake Quote Link to post
philpot 5,079
I have an HW80 which belongs to a pal of mine which he wants to sell and that is in lovely condition. I am having trouble loading photos on at the moment but my daughter is coming over tonight to sort things out and I can then post photos. It has a pre focused scope made by Kassnar 6 - 18 x 44 (no I had never heard of them either), Sportsmatch mounts, adjustable heel plate / rubber pad and sling studs and has a small sound mod which does soften the sound a little but also has the screw on end piece if the mod is not wanted. Very nice gun to be honest. Phil Quote Link to post

But prefer to buy from a rfd, so if anything does go wrong, I'm covered, and won't have any aggrevation, apart from taking it back to the shop. Also, not made up my mind 100% yet, as to if I actually will buy another rifle lol. Thanks, again, anyway. Quote Link to post
