None of the dogs will be 26 1/2” mate.
The bitch that won is about 23” , the dog is at the upper limit, about 25”, but there are dogs and bitches around 20” 32lb that will beat any coursing bred over 150-200 yards.

The dogs I went to see yesterday are the scratch dogs , the fastest there is, the record holders.

Ive seen the racing lurchers over the years that thought they could beat them…they couldn’t !

A lad who claimed he had the fastest lurcher in the UK and Ireland came to our track and go nowhere near the track record holder and a 24lb racing champion bitch did a better time.

Ive said before, I beat a pure greyhound with a non-ped in a money match over 150 yards straight racing but got beat in the return match over 270 yards on a greyhound track.

You have no idea how fast these dogs are over 150-200 yards.

Cheers.

Mchull your right a hares a fast animal and if you have a quick killing dog as in right up at them from get go then I'd say 200 yards is plenty for it to open up you get that dog proper fit give it a go
