She put the rights of a biological male rapist to be labelled a woman and go to a women’s prison, front and centre and above the rights of the female victim. It was political suicide on a spectacular level and it collapsed support of the SNP overnight, undoing decades of work. Then not to mention the disastrous fall out where one of her potential successors was ‘outed’ for her ‘wee free’ and slightly conservative views on gay marriage, and who’s actual replacement was at best a passive racist and muslim (well known for their liberal views and support of the LBGTQ etc. community).
